In this scene from Legally Blonde we get to see each of the characters lined up in court in front of the judge. The use of costume for each character provides the audience with important information for each character. Here the 2 men and the woman one the left are dress in black blazers which has clear connotations of seriousness and suitable business where. However, Elle is wearing pink making her stand out to the audience as the others are in a dark suit. The colour pink has connotations of kindness and being caring toward others which signifies that Elle is trying to be serious as she is wearing a suit but also wants to stand out and be her self because this demonstrates her personality with looking fashionable. The colour pink also signifies that Elle is confident and more outgoing than the other characters. In the film Elle woods, has bright blond hair and a bit of makeup which signifies that she cares what she looks like even if she is in court. Her facial expression has connotations of happy and excited because the judge has accepted her to be her lawyer. The lighting shines at the front but fades away in to the back so its brighter at the front making the main characters stand out more to the audience.
